Once again, Nigeria's film industry is engulfed in sorrow as news of Murphy Afolabi's demise surfaces.
Murphy Afolabi, a well-known Yoruba actor at the age of 49, passed away in the early hours of today within the confines of his residence.
Tunde Ola-Yusuf, a seasoned film director and producer, confirmed the unfortunate news through his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.
“Rest in peace. May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss,” he wrote.
Just slightly over a week ago, on Friday, May 5, the late actor celebrated his birthday.
Under the guidance of Dagunro, Murphy embarked on his career with a movie titled 'Ifa Olokun' and went on to feature in numerous others, even producing some himself.
