| Oba of Benin at Villa |
His Royal Majesty, Oba of Benin, Omon’Oba N’Edo Uku’Akpolokpolo Ewuare II, visited the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at Aso Villa on Friday.
Speculators speculated that the visit was to congratulate Tinubu in person on his inauguration as Nigeria's president and to talk about issues regarding the people of Nigeria.
But Channels TV reported that the reason for the Oba of Benin and Tinubu's meeting is unclear.
Previously, in May of this year, the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, was appointed by the Federal Government as the new Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, gave the Oba in Benin City, Edo State, a courtesy visit and gave an assurance that the university's fortunes will improve under the incoming Chancellor.
