An Ondo State-based pastor was sentenced to two years in prison after he broke into someone's chemical shop and stole chemical substances worth 130,000 Naira.
A two-year prison sentence has been imposed on Friday Okeneji, the head pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Ona Iwa-Mimo, Iwaro Oka Akoko in Ondo State.
The Chief Magistrates Court in Oke Eda, Akure, found Okeneji guilty on Wednesday for breaking into a chemical store without permission and stealing substances worth N130,000.
The crime was perpetrated on July 2, 2023, at Iwaro Oka Akoko by the defendant.
The pastor appeared before the court and pleaded guilty to the two offenses that were read to him by the court.

He said that he committed the crimes with the intention of using the money made from the stolen products to pay for his mother's upcoming funeral in August.
The Magistrate Damilola Sekoni, who found Pastor Okeneji guilty on two counts, stated that the prison sentence will run concurrently with an option of N100,000.
Sekoni, on the other hand, counseled the prisoner to turn a new leaf and embrace the genuine Christian qualities while he was incarcerated.
